Here are a few examples of Corran Media’s 2009 work.
Freumhan (Roots) was our first commission, produced for BBC ALBA. It’s a hour-long film about the life of theologian and political polemicist Dr Donald Macleod. Through the prism of Dr Macleod's life, it studies the changing nature of society and spirituality in Scotland. It was produced in the summer of 2009 and warmly received when broadcast by BBC ALBA in the autumn. All production, and HD post production, by Corran Media.
Bothan Air A Phreiridh
Again for Pelicula films, but this time with Mark Littlewood and Iain S Macpherson, this was another hour long documentary for BBC ALBA. It's an atmospheric road trip across the Canadian prairies, looking at the human cost of emigration. Post production was completed in early November; Corran completed all vision post work including HD edit, grade and deliverables.
"The IT mastery of Angus meant that our 'distance editing', he in Lewis and I in Belfast, was never a roadblock but in fact a catylist for ideas and a spur to intense co-operation. His artistic sensitivity to the story being told and his readiness in taking on other ideas meant that from the first Edit List to the Final Assembly he added in immeasurabe ways to the final success of the film. I would recommend Corran Media to all with the most emphatic 'Yes' immagineable.
Iain S MacPherson for Pelicula Films.
Hebridean Celtic Festival
Corran provided near-to-air HD edit and graphics facilities for the broadcast on ALBA of the award winning Hebridean Celtic Festival. Another tapeless HD project: but this time one with a very tight turn-around.
